Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrive at Leh Airport — one of the most sensational flights in the world with views of K2, Nanga Parbat and the Nun Kun massif. Our driver meets you and transfers you to the hotel. Complete day at leisure to acclimatise. Welcome tea or coffee at the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay in Leh.

Post breakfast, drive towards Sham Valley. Visit Hall of Fame (India Army Museum, closed Mondays), Gurudwara Patthar Sahib at 3,600 m. Drive to Magnetic Hill, then to the stunning Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. Evening visit to Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa & Leh Market. Dinner & overnight in Leh.

Post breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley crossing Khardung La — The Highest Motorable Road in the World at 5,602 m / 18,390 ft. Nubra Valley sits at an average altitude of 10,000 ft between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges. Check in at camp/hotel in Hunder. Dinner & overnight in Nubra Valley.

Early breakfast, then ride a double-humped Bactrian camel on the sand dunes of Hunder. Stop at Diskit Monastery. Drive toward Pangong Tso via Agham & Shyok Valley. Arrive at the famous Pangong Lake (4,267 m) — 133 km long, half in Tibet. Campfire dinner & overnight at camp near Pangong Lake.

Morning at leisure to enjoy the magical blue lake. Drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass (5,486 m). Enroute visit Hemis Gompa, Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, and the famous 3 Idiots Rancho School. Dinner & overnight in Leh.

End of tour. After breakfast, check out and transfer to Leh Airport. Memories of Ladakh's mountains, monasteries and star-filled skies will stay with you forever.

Yes, Ladakh is very safe. However, altitude sickness is the main concern at 3,500–5,600 m. We include a rest day on Day 1 for acclimatisation and provide an oxygen cylinder from Day 3. Please consult your doctor before travel if you have heart/lung conditions.

June to September is the best time when the roads are open. The Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake routes are accessible only during these months. Winters (Nov–Mar) offer the famous Chadar Trek on the frozen Zanskar River.
